9.. How are children with medical needs supported at Waynflete Infants’ School?
If your child has a medical need a detailed Care Plan will be created in line with your child’s medical reports and recommendations. We will invite you into school to discuss your child’s needs and incorporate your expertise and knowledge of your child into the plan.
if necessary Staff will receive training on specific medical areas. (All staff are Epipen Trained)
Where necessary and in agreement with you, medicine can be administered in school but only when a signed medicine consent form is in place to ensure the safety of both your child and the staff member
All teaching assistants are First Aid trained. Two higher level teaching assistants are trained in Paediatric First Aid.
Class teachers will want to meet with you to discuss your child’s needs, and regular meetings can be made to maintain regular communication.
Staff are happy to contact you throughout the day about areas that you are concerned with. (For example; illnesses in the classroom, a head bump etc.…)
