PE and Sports Premium

PE

Our school aims to inspire all children to develop a love for physical activity and sport and to understand the importance of exercise to their bodies and well-being.  Through good physical education and whole school values we aim to nurture confident, resilient children who will strive for their personal best.

Through our curriculum, they will develop fundamental movement skills, become increasingly competent and confident and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination.  They will apply these skills and take part in a variety of team games, gymnastics, and perform dances using simple movement phrases.  In EYFS children have one lesson of PE each week delivered by a PE specialist. In KS1 children have 2 sessions of PE each week and in Year 1 one of these is delivered by a PE specialist.

Alongside our PE curriculum, our school aim is to increase children’s daily physical activity.  This is achieved through daily physical breaks (Go Noodle, Danny Go), our daily run and equipment to encourage physical activity during play and lunchtime breaks.

We enjoy competition and our children are encouraged to take part in competitive events both within our school and with other schools in our cluster across the year that cover a wide range of different activities.  All children take part in our competitive sports day during the Summer term.

We have links with Brackley Town Football Club and Sports for All who offer after school clubs and activities within the school day.
