Safeguarding at Waynflete Infants’ School is embedded through our recruitment process, procedures and policies.

WIS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and agree to uphold our policies and procedures prior to commencement of their respective role in school.

All staff hold Child Protection/Safeguarding Certificates of training, and the Designated Safeguarding Lead Teachers update whole school training on an annual basis.

Online Safety plays an important part of safeguarding at school. All children learn about online safety through ICT and PHSE, it also runs through the whole curriculum on how to stay safe on digital media. The following staff have undertaken Prevent Training: Mrs Tina Lagdon, Mrs Sally Watson and Mrs Hayley Sara.

If you are concerned about the safety or well-being of a child and need urgent help please call Northamptonshire police on 999. In school hours please speak to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (or Deputy in their absence). In the unlikely event that you can not contact either of the DSLs please contact the Chair of Governors. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
